Todd Dezago’s initial letter of intent handed out to Artists at conventions and sent to friends and colleagues.

The page count rose as more and more Artists agreed to be involved.
Hi~!

My name is Todd Dezago. I write comics.

I’m known mostly for Spider-Man. I’ve written a lot of Spider-Man and, back in the late 90s, I was fortunate enough to be paired with Mike Wieringo, a very talented artist and an incredibly nice guy. We became great friends.

After working on Sensational Spider-Man for several years, Mike and I co-created our own independent book, Tellos—a high-adventure, fantasy series we published through Image. It ran for ten issues and got fairly good reviews. We always hoped that one day we would be able to re-visit our favorite collaboration.

Sadly and suddenly, however, Mike passed away in 2007 from an unknown heart condition.

The question I have been continually asked since is, “Will there be more Tellos?”
My answer is always, “I’d like there to be.”
…but it just wouldn’t be the same without Mike…

Unless…
…unless it was a tribute, a celebration of Mike, with artwork contributed by some of the top artists in the industry;  friends, fans, and heroes of Mike’s, with all the proceeds donated to the ASPCA in Mike’s name, an organization very dear to both of us.

So, I have written a nearly 300 page Tellos adventure—a sequel to our original tale—and production is underway. Artwork is continually coming in—all of it stunning—and we are already nearly halfway done~! It would mean so much if you would consider contributing a page or two. Every name we add to our list of contributors means more attention for our project and, hopefully, more money for the cats and dogs.

We are doing our best to keep this a secret, so we would appreciate your discretion in that matter. If anyone asks, deny everything.
That’s it. That’s my pitch.
I hope you can join us; it’s turning out to be quite a thing.
Thanks so much for your time.
And your consideration.

Best~

I’d really like to contribute to this if it’s still possible. The Tellos books are a super special part of my comic-store experience. I followed mike on his blog and was hearbroken when I heard of his passing. Tellos has and always will be one of the most cherished stories I’ve ever read. It helped me develop as an artist and I would absolutely leap at the opportunity to contribute something to this.
