Barbara Kaalberg broke into the comics industry in 1989, inking and doing grey washes on 11 issues of “Planet of the Apes” for Malibu Comics’ ‘Adventure’ line of comics. There were very few women inkers in the comic book industry at that time, which proved a bit of a challenge, but one that Barbara was happy to accept. She has worked for DC, Marvel, Image, Dark Horse, Malibu, WaRP Graphics, and a dozen other independent companies over some of comics top talents. Her longest run on a series was for 2 ½ years on DC’s “Impulse”. Barbara has enjoyed her almost 3 decades in the industry that she loves and is looking forward to many more years of work with the amazing, wonderful people she has met, and will meet, along the way.
